THE LOWDOWN

Thought Field therapy (TFT) aims to eliminate the cause of negative emotion by tapping into energy meridian points. It’s said to help bring relief from stress, phobias and fears within minutes.

THE SESSION

‘I wanted to try TFT to help me cope with my stressful job. My therapist, Jill, explained that TFT uses the body’s natural systems to counter imbalances. This would help me deal with stress in a more positive way. She told me to think about a stressful situation and rate its intensity from one to ten. She then touched my knee while asking a pendulum she was holding to give signals for the ‘yes’ ‘no’ and ‘don’t know’ answers to the questions she asked. Through this, the pendulum identified the energy points that I needed to work on. Jill asked me to tap different areas of my body while thinking about the situation. After doing this several times, along with a visualistion exercise, I no longer felt stressed’

DOES IT WORK?

‘I think it helped. Even a week later, I’m more laid back about things I’d normally have got wound up about.’
