Expat stress

Moving to a new country can be an incredibly exciting event, particularly for the expat who has taken on a new and challenging role. However problems can rear their ugly head not only for the breadwinner, but also for his wife if she then takes on a supportive role, rather than working and/or running a busy household.

Many ladies love the idea of the slower pace of life, a chance to meet new people, to play a sport, read and explore. However others are not so fortunate. They may be too shy to approach new people, feel of little value, bored, homesick, angry, resentful - and for many, the prospect of having to ask their husbands for money, rather than dive into their own funds, is the final straw. A once vibrant, dynamic, confident lady can feel a total loss of identity and become very unhappy in a very short time.

For the working expat too there are many challenges.

Expat men generally come into a company at a senior level, work very long hours and are expected to work their magic immediately. However adjusting to new cultures and procedures can be very stressful. Sometimes there is little understanding of each other’s point of view or methods of operating, which can lead to incredible frustration and stress.

If a frustrated man then goes home to an unhappy wife, the problems are just magnified.

Jill has a unique method of dealing with these problems. When a client is swamped with negative emotions it is extremely difficult to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Jill’s approach is to deal with the overall issues, by removing the intense feelings of stress, frustration, boredom etc. Once those emotions have dissipated, the light at the end of the tunnel becomes brighter and brighter. What before seemed an impossible task, now becomes achievable, with the world looking a much more inviting place. The client gains self worth, feels happy, relaxed, motivated and is able to perform at his/her peak.

Jill is always being referred to as a person who radiates positivity and she passes this positivity onto her clients. The following is an email she received:

It is simple, you were and are, a very positive person and you showed that positiveness in so many ways at a time when there were days when I did not know which way was up. You were an anchor …. The first time I met you I thought you had the capability to do a lot of good and, even if this sounds like I am blowing my own trumpet, I have never been wrong about people. You radiate healing. I have met doctors who, despite all their intelligence and education, couldn't heal a cut finger. It is all in the persona, in the attitude and that is a gift. You have it."

The happiest people aren’t the ones who have the most – they are the ones who make the most of what they have.

How will Jill help me?

Jill firmly believes in a holistic approach, and will discuss client needs on an individual basis to decide upon the most appropriate treatment to pursue. Sometimes a combination of approaches is the most effective - Thought Field Therapy overcomes fears, NLP creates excellence, and Reiki promotes a sense of peace and well-being.

Consultations are personal and confidential, and are conducted face to face in Oxshott, Surrey or over the telephone. Consultants can also be held at the client’s premises, if necessary.

Initial consultations will be for 2 hours. Many people will require only one or two sessions.
